~ Kids say the darnest things ~

Yesterday I was working at the store, and adding lots of new things when I heard a little boy of 4 maybe 5 years old, tell his mom that this gingerbread doll looks like it is burnt. I over heard him, and told him that I made it to look old, and he said that it still looks burnt.

Guess I may need to change my thinking when I create dolls. I think they look old, and kids think that they cooked too long. Out the mouth of babes!

Have a great day and rest of the week!

Have you thought about your 2011 goals yet?

Have you all started on your 2011 goals? I have - I have goals for my business, and personal goals. I have put my goals where I can see them daily, and I have added dates to most of them as to when I want them accomplished by.

How do you keep track of your goals? Have you set any yet? How do you

Below is a list of some of my goals for this year:

Personal:  Clean out the spice cabinet, and clean out the pots and pans cabinet.

Goals for my office - add more shelves, organize greeting cards, tabs, tea bag envelopes by season, and put into photo boxes.

Business:  Add 30 new items to The Speckled Goose, Scrapper & Stamper weekly, blog three times weekly, add montly pictures of The Speckled Goose located inside Noble Treaures, and make sure that my websites are backed up at least weekly, and more often if new items have been added.

This is just a few of my 2011 goals. I hope this has gotten you thinking about creating some goals for yourself.

Have a great weekend, and happy goal setting.

Happy New Year

I hope you all had a great Christmas, and have a safe and wonderful New Year!! I for one am glad that 2010 is almost over. It has been a long six months, and I am ready to start a fresh year!!

I haven't bloged much the last six months due to the loss of my mother, and my old dog Butch. I miss both of them a lot, and then the last three weeks I have been in bed for most of the time (or in the chair) with a whopping of a cold. I am getting back to normal, whatever that is. =)

We had a great Christmas at the Dumdi house, and I am looking forward to getting back to work. I have been busy at the antique store, and am still working Wednesday & Thursday, if you're in Old Town Lafayette. Haley d'Pug and I would love to see you.

More soon, and it sure feels good to get back to work!!

What's new at The Speckled Goose, Scrapper & Stamper

It was brought to my attention today that I need to get back to blogging. I have been away from it since my mother was sick this summer. I agreed with Helen, and decided that there is no better time to get back at it.

What has been happening at the Goose you ask? Well, we have moved into a new space within Noble Treasures, and I have a lot more time to create which I am loving. I am missing the daily intereaction with customers, although I still get to do that at Noble Treasures.

I have been working long hours on my printables, graphics, and making cards, tags, recipe cooks, and more for the store.

You all have great weekend, and we'll be back soon with more.

Long Summer and Back to Work

It sure has been a long summer for our family. My mom went to the doctor and the technican did some adjustments on her pacemaker. Needless to say, I believe that was the begininng of the end. She immediately started having breathing problems, but thought that was normal. Didn't tell my sister (who is a nurse) because of what she would say.

Mom and her hubby took a trip to Idaho to visit my sister, and she was immediately put into the hospital for the week. Got her stable and sent her back home to California. Had several doctors appointments, but nothing was done. Then her hubby took her to the hospital.

We (I) was in Paradise hospital for almost two weeks, then we had mom transferred to San Francisco. Spent about one and a half weeks there. Docs did all they could for her and it we were basically told it is now a waiting process. Can we get better enough to live in an assisted living facility or ???? Mom would never go back and take care of her home.

We got mom stable and then transferred her to Boise, Idaho, closer to my sister, (and a little closer for me). She was doing better, but not good enough for an assisted living facility yet. Then she took a turn for the worse. I headed that way, Jacque flew out, and the three of us girls spent the next week and half with mom, and then the Lord took her to another place.

She is no longer suffering, for which I am glad, but I miss her. The family then gathered back in Paradise, California to clean out her house, memorial service, and then place mom where she belongs, which back with our dad.

I am now back at home, John is back in school, The Speckled Goose is taking on more space inside Noble Treasures. That move should be completed within the next few days. No rest for the wicked, but I didn't realize that I was that wicked. =)

Next post I'll show you what I have been up to the last week or so, and then I am back to work again.

Have a great rest of your weekend.

Nancie

ps - thanks for all the thoughts and prayers during this long summer I have had.
