Happy New Year

I hope you all had a great Christmas, and have a safe and wonderful New Year!! I for one am glad that 2010 is almost over. It has been a long six months, and I am ready to start a fresh year!!

I haven't bloged much the last six months due to the loss of my mother, and my old dog Butch. I miss both of them a lot, and then the last three weeks I have been in bed for most of the time (or in the chair) with a whopping of a cold. I am getting back to normal, whatever that is. =)

We had a great Christmas at the Dumdi house, and I am looking forward to getting back to work. I have been busy at the antique store, and am still working Wednesday & Thursday, if you're in Old Town Lafayette. Haley d'Pug and I would love to see you.

More soon, and it sure feels good to get back to work!!

What's new at The Speckled Goose, Scrapper & Stamper

It was brought to my attention today that I need to get back to blogging. I have been away from it since my mother was sick this summer. I agreed with Helen, and decided that there is no better time to get back at it.

What has been happening at the Goose you ask? Well, we have moved into a new space within Noble Treasures, and I have a lot more time to create which I am loving. I am missing the daily intereaction with customers, although I still get to do that at Noble Treasures.

I have been working long hours on my printables, graphics, and making cards, tags, recipe cooks, and more for the store.

You all have great weekend, and we'll be back soon with more.

Long Summer and Back to Work

It sure has been a long summer for our family. My mom went to the doctor and the technican did some adjustments on her pacemaker. Needless to say, I believe that was the begininng of the end. She immediately started having breathing problems, but thought that was normal. Didn't tell my sister (who is a nurse) because of what she would say.

Mom and her hubby took a trip to Idaho to visit my sister, and she was immediately put into the hospital for the week. Got her stable and sent her back home to California. Had several doctors appointments, but nothing was done. Then her hubby took her to the hospital.

We (I) was in Paradise hospital for almost two weeks, then we had mom transferred to San Francisco. Spent about one and a half weeks there. Docs did all they could for her and it we were basically told it is now a waiting process. Can we get better enough to live in an assisted living facility or ???? Mom would never go back and take care of her home.

We got mom stable and then transferred her to Boise, Idaho, closer to my sister, (and a little closer for me). She was doing better, but not good enough for an assisted living facility yet. Then she took a turn for the worse. I headed that way, Jacque flew out, and the three of us girls spent the next week and half with mom, and then the Lord took her to another place.

She is no longer suffering, for which I am glad, but I miss her. The family then gathered back in Paradise, California to clean out her house, memorial service, and then place mom where she belongs, which back with our dad.

I am now back at home, John is back in school, The Speckled Goose is taking on more space inside Noble Treasures. That move should be completed within the next few days. No rest for the wicked, but I didn't realize that I was that wicked. =)

Next post I'll show you what I have been up to the last week or so, and then I am back to work again.

Have a great rest of your weekend.

Nancie

ps - thanks for all the thoughts and prayers during this long summer I have had.

Many of you who following me and are facebook friends, you know that I have been dealing with some very serious medical problems with my mom.

My mom is a very sick lady, and I was with her for 2.5 weeks while she was in the ICU unit in two different hospitals in California. She is now headed to a hosiptal in Idaho where my sister lives. Hopefully the trip goes well. Please keep praying for her recovery.

Thanks to all of my friends who have sent many emails, messages, prayers, and so much more. Just knowing that I have many friends and family that care and sent prayers makes me feel special.

~ What's New this Week ~

Our Easter cards, and tags were a huge hit, and Mother's Day is just around the corner. Many new cards are in the process, along with 4x6" brag books.

I am also in the process of creating and adding more printable to the website, including candy wrappers, greeting cards, hot cocoa wrappers, and so much more.

Below is a couple of new additions to our on-ine store

Here is a new scrap page that I created, and I am in the process of getting these added to the on--line store also.

Hope you all have a great day. It is back to work for me.

For all of your paper and digital gifts, and supplies.

For all of your primitive and country home decor and gifts.

~ Happy Spring ~

March has come and gone, Easter has come and gone, and the store has received its Spring cleaning. Trees, shrubs, and flowers are in bloom. Spring is in the air in Colorado.
I have also been doing my fair share of live Eagle watching. Eggs have been laid, and several nests already have babies. Such a sight to watch a feeding and the mothering. Besides being enjoyable to watch, most of the website have a large amount of information. What a wonderful educational experience for the kids, BIG, and Small alike. =)
For several live cam links check out The Speckled Goose Blog or search live eagle cams, and you'll find lots of great links worth checking out. Have fun, and remember it is an education, not a waste of time. =)

~ Designing new 5x7" Calendars ~

I am busy designing some really cute 2010 5"x7" calendars. They fit into a portrait style clear picture frame, and each month has cute graphics to depict the theme of the month. I should have pics for your today or tomorrow.

~ What's new this week ~

I have been working on setting up my new Scrap work space. I am so excited about getting all of my supplies, paper, and embellishments into an area where I can find them all and work without having to put it all away when I have to quit working on stuff.

I will post pics when it is all completed, but it may be another couple of weeks. Lots to do.

I am also working on getting some cool calendars printed up and pictures taken. Calendars will be available for the months you want. Say you purchase a calendar in February or March, your calendar will start in February or March, not in January. This way you won't have wasted months in your calendar, and you'll get to enjoy all 12 months. How cool is that?

The store has had a total makeover. It sure looks nice, and a lot of new items have been added. Stop by to say "hi" when you're in Old Town Lafayette, CO.
